Should I buy the Garmin Forerunner 265 or step up to the Forerunner 965?

The Forerunner 265 ($449) gives you 90% of the running experience—including dual-frequency SatIQ GPS, AMOLED screen, and Training Readiness—and comes in two case sizes (42mm 265S and 46mm 265). Step up to the Forerunner 965 ($599) if you want full-color offline TopoActive maps on your wrist, a scratch-resistant titanium bezel, a larger 1.4-inch display, and 23-day smartwatch battery life.

Why do marathoners love the COROS Pace 3 and Pace Pro?

Weight and battery efficiency per dollar. At just 30 grams with a nylon band, the $229 COROS Pace 3 is virtually unnoticeable during a marathon yet delivers 38 hours of standard GPS (15 hours dual-frequency). The $349 COROS Pace Pro upgrades to a 1,500-nit AMOLED screen and fast-rendering offline global maps while staying featherweight at 37 grams.

Do optical wrist heart-rate sensors work accurately during interval sprints?

Modern arrays like Garmin Elevate Gen 4/5 and Suunto/COROS multi-LED sensors are highly accurate for steady-state aerobic runs, but wrist PPG still exhibits a 5-to-10-second lag during 30-second anaerobic track repeats or cold-weather runs. Every watch in this guide supports pairing an external Bluetooth/ANT+ chest strap or optical armband for zero-lag interval training.
